Simon is the former President and CEO of MTV Networks Europe. During his 14 years at MTV he led MTV’s European expansion launching their TV channels, online presence, and mobile offering. Simon has a broad experience of the media sector and the proven ability to aggressively scale international companies.
Al Gosling
Non Executive Director
Al is CEO and founder of the Extreme Group http://www.extrememediagroup.com, starting with a TV distribution company, in 1995 followed by the launch of the Extreme Sports Channel in 1999. He has since developed Extreme into a number of areas including Extreme hotels, drinks, shops, mobile, travel, theme parks and clothing. Through a fundamental passion for building the brand, making it happen and delivering a range of products and services which all offer something new and different to what is out there today the Extreme group has grown to employ more than 250 people and is operating in 70 countries around the world.
Richard Spalding
CEO and co-founder
With over 10 years advertising experience in TV production and digital strategy, Richard is responsible for managing the day to day running of the company and growing The Kontraband Group into a global marketing solutions business. Prior to Kontraband, Richard was Head of TV at the creative advertising agency Strawberry Frog with offices in NY and Amsterdam where he produced and managed international TV productions for Heineken. Richard also spent two years at the global advertising agency, Bartle Bogel Hegarty, as a senior TV producer, working directly with blue chip clients like; Unilever, Barclays and Audi.
Pete Longhurst
Commercial Director and co-founder
With over 10 years experience in digital strategy Pete is responsible for developing the Kontraband Group’s commercial offering and managing our commercial teams. Prior to joining Kontraband Pete was CEO of Evolutions, a leading UK creative design agency, working with clients including Friends Reunited, Toshiba, First Choice and Honeywell International.
Patrick Dowling
CFO and COO
With over 12 years experience in both Blue Chip and SME environments Patrick is responsible for leading The Kontraband Group’s international financial strategy. Prior to Kontraband Patrick was Finance Director for the Handbag Publishing Group playing a key role in both its aggressive growth strategy and its subsequent successful trade sale to The National Magazine Company. He also spent a number of years as FP&A Director for First Data the global leader in information commerce and as a Commercial Accountant with The Capita Group a FTSE 100 company.
Andy Ross
Technical Director and co-founder
With over 12 years of experience in website development, database design and implementation Andy is responsible for the development, server architecture and maintenance of all sites across the Kontraband Group. Prior to Kontraband Andy was Technical Director for Evolutions Limited specialising in E-commerce and Bespoke Content Management and also has a number of years experience in senior roles within blue chip environments such as British Airways, Compaq and Legal & General.
Wesley Dunton
Creative & Editorial Director and co-founder
Wes has over 12 years experience in the digital media sector. He is responsible for Kontraband’s creative and editorial content and its front end strategic development. Prior to Kontraband, Wes was working as creative director in a web-design agency, bringing his past experience as a video & animation director into the digital domain.
Kam Lau
Chief Deployment Officer and co-founder
Kam is responsible for managing the deployment of all client campaigns across the Kontraband Group. He has over 12 years experience in digital environments and worked with a leading web-design agency prior to joining Kontraband.
