RSS feeds are like the modern equivalent of good old fashioned tickertape telegraph messages. Now you can use our RSS feeds to let you know when the latest cool and funny stuff is published on Kontraband.

All that code that you see when you click on the links is xml code. In short, XML code is a like a pimped up version of HTML (the stuff most normal web pages are made of).  All we need to know is that programs called 'RSS Readers' eat XML code for breakfast (lunch and dinner)!  and churn out the goodies which you want.

Therefore, to use RSS feeds you need an RSS Reader (sometimes called an 'aggregator').  An RSS Reader does simply just receives RSS stuff.

It allows you to receive information and links to information from the internet from web site resources that YOU have specifically chosen.  You are in total control of what information you choose to receive, and can unsubscribe at any time from within the program. 

This means NO SPAM!  In essence it is like bringing the internet to your living room tv and having a remote control on the internet. You choose which bits you want to watch, and if they start to annoy you, just flip channels (ie. delete the feed).  Also, many of the RSS Reader programs are free. So expense is zero.

To set up a Kontraband RSS Feed:

1. Get yourself an RSS reader and follow their installation instructions.
   
2. Locate the link to the RSS feed you want.  If you click on the button you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, including by dragging the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL into a new feed in your news reader.
   Most sites that offer RSS feeds use a similar orange RSS button, but some may just have a normal web link to the feed.
